Thank you all for reading, and a special big thanks and hugs to those of you who post. Even a "nice story", or "can't stand this one", is appreciated because it lets me know you are interested and helps me improve. So without further ado, I think the wedding is about to start....................
The day dawned bright and sunny. Not too hot, not too cold. A balmy 70 degrees Siminheight with a light breeze to keep things fresh. There was the hustle and bustle and nervous fluttering around to make sure nothing was forgotten and everything was in order and all correct. Menus were checked, flowers checked, everything that needed placing was placed. Kieran was busy setting up his supplies and equipment and soon was busy chopping and stirring. This was going to be a culinary extravaganza with cakes and the most exquisite dishes prepared and set out in plentiful array. No one, young or old, would be forgotten or go home hungry. Dina, polished up the glasses and made sure everything was in place at the bar. It was her first daughter's wedding and she was going to make sure the juice was flowing. Nothing was to go wrong! They may have to watch part of the ceremony from their stations but that was ok. They could see just fine where they were, and the knowledge they were giving all their love and expertise to the family filled them with a sense of accomplishment to add just a touch of spice to their joy. This was it. The Big Day. Aislyn McCloud and Waylon Capriciosa were getting married! The first gold medal party for the heir, (if all goes well). Aislyn looked around with a little trepidation. Would every one arrive on time? Did Airynn have her bouquet and Rez the rings?Way: Hon, it's ok. Everything is ready. Now, just relax and let me look at my beautiful wife to be.
Ais: Oh, Rez, look! They all came. All your brothers and sisters, all my friends from my club! This is amazing!
Waylon and Aislynn, we are gathered here in the sight of all your family and friends to see you joined together in loving matrimony. To be faithful and loving to each other for all your days. It will be your duty and joy to bring in the next generation, to nurture and care for each other and your children, and to further the cause of this dynasty. Forever breaking the curse laid down on your ancestors so many centuries ago. Are you both prepared for this difficult, yet rewarding challenge?Waylon and Aislynn: We are.
Ais: (Watcher, will you just shut up and let us get on with it?)
W:
No need to get grumpy about it. I just wanted to officiate.Ais: Waylon, you are my heart, my life, my soul mate. I will love you and cherish each moment with you. I promise to be the best wife I can be, to bear your children, to soothe your hurts, to fill your heart with love and to support you in all you choose to do and be. You have filled my heart with joy and I am so grateful and happy that you chose me.
Way: Aislyn, the day you said "yes" I thought I was the happiest man on earth. Now, today, as we promise our love and unity to one another, my joy knows no end. I promise I will always love you and be faithful to you. I will care for you and our children, support you in all your endeavors, give to you all the love a man could possibly have. Thank you for choosing me when so many others were there to choose from. I love you, and with this ring, pledge all I am, and all I could ever be to you.
And somewhere on a mountain top in a land far away, three witches all dressed appropriately in black, gave a cheer and tossed handfuls of confetti into the bubbling cauldron where they had watched it all happen. Ais: I love you my darling Waylon.
Way: I love you my precious wife.
Dina: Congratulations, darlings! I'm so happy I could cry.
Don: Dina, you DID cry. Ok, everybody, let's get this party started!
Kieran: Beautiful ceremony, sweetie. Foods ready if you want to call your guests to their meal? Give them more energy for dancing. Get it while it's hot.
Ais: Ok, Dad, right after this number. I'm too excited to eat just yet.
Dina: So, Rez, what do you think of all this?
Rez: Oh, it was really beautiful. Aislyn looked gorgeous and everything was so nice. A bit overwhelming for me though. Are weddings always like this? I mean, doesn't anyone ever just get married? Privately?
Dina: Oh sure they do. But this was the wedding of a watched, dynasty heir. Had to be a pretty big deal. Ummmm, I saw you and Airynn the other night. You two making any plans we should know about?
Rez: Uhhhh, no. Not yet anyway. Didn't want to spoil Aislyn's moment you know. I don't know. It just seems so MUCH.
Dina: Well, you have lots of time to think things through. By the way, I made a pretty delicious Dina Special you know. Maybe you should go get one and help reach another part of this wedding goal. Gold medal time you know.
Ais: Cake time, Waylon! My Dad's special.
Way: Looks great! Ok, how do we do this?
Ais: We just have to be careful we don't poke one another or get it on my dress.
Way: Or ruin your hair or make up, right?
Ais: Right! Say ahhh.
Way: Ahhhh.....
Christopher: Hey, Uncle Kieran! Check out these moves!
Marley: Oh, Chris you always have to show off. Nice moves though.
Air: You always were the best dancer in the group.
Chris: Yeah! I've been practicing. Hoping to join that all male dance group. You know the ones with no shirts and bow ties?
Marley: Never happen but you're good enough I think.
Don: He learned it from the best. Check this out! Oh, yeah. The old man still has what it takes!
Later that day, it was time to take a break. Aislyn finally had a chance to sit down with a plate of deliciousness her Dad had fixed for them.Ais: Wow! I never knew getting married could be so exhausting!
Kieran: It is that. Have I mentioned how totally gorgeous you are today? You really made me so proud. Full of grace and composure no matter what.
Ais: Thanks, Dad. I sure didn't feel composed! By the way, the food was outstanding! Thank you for doing this for us. I wouldn't want anyone else's cooking at my wedding.
Don: So how are you doing Liz? Life line ok?
Eliza: Oh, bubbling away of course, just like you and Dina. We were part of the originals and if it wasn't for that blasted ambrosia Kieran would be in the same boat, or worse, dead and gone!
Don: It's the athletics for us three. That's what keeps us goin'. Soooo, don't let the kids know I had to stop dancin' and sit down. I'd never hear the end of it.
Ais: Dad when did you find the time to dye your hair? I must say it looks great. You don't look a day over 30 now.
Kieran: While you all were dancin' I stepped out for a few and did the job. I hate to look any older than I feel.
Don: Vanity, vanity! I think I look great as a silver fox.
Eliza: I think so too, Don.
Don: Say, here comes that girl friend of yours, Ais. Poor thing. She got the insane trait and now is always acting angry. Her parents kicked her out too so she's homeless as well. Nice of you to invite her. At least she'll have a good meal.
Ais: She's fine, Uncle Don. She doesn't realize anything is wrong, gets to eat all she wants from folks grilling, and she just sleeps in the tent. Really, it's almost like having a home.
The day finally was winding down to a close and this Watcher has had enough excitement for one day. Before I go I will leave you with two more snapshots. The first is the wedding party enjoying their second slice of cake. Hilarious faces they made!During the party while no one noticed Kieran's trip to the mirror, they also didn't notice little Donell Rosa aging up. You certainly can tell who his mother was! Just look at those eyebrows. If anyone needs a trip to the dresser it's this boy. And with that, we'll let the newlyweds go off to their honeymoon while we take a deep breath till the next time we visit.
