Haunted Mint

This was probably my favorite effect out of all of them. Your sim gets a little zooming light that circles his/her head a few times and then ends up disappearing into the top of your sims head. Very strange! They can also be visited by a ghost after eating this. Sadly I couldn't get that to happen but I haven't given up trying!
Although it's quite cool when your sim is at home alone...




The fun really begins out and about around other sims.




Your sim will sit there thinking everything is pretty normal while the little sprite thing whizzes around their head. Everyone else freaks out.




The more often a sim witnesses it...




The worse they seem to freak out!




Personally I don't see why the bartender is making such a fuss... I'm sure he's got a bigger secret he's hiding.

Both these moodlets my sim got from only eating one bowl (obviously at different times) of Haunted Mint not two like I have seen reported elsewhere. It is also possible to have both the moodlets at the same time if you eat two bowls/cones one after the other.

Chilled Mocha


This also has two outcomes. The first is your sim gets pretty cold!





Poor guy, I don't think blowing your breath on your hands is going to make much of a difference.




Second effect is quite interesting too.




Because my sim lives by himself he needed a friend to come over to explore this strange feeling a little better.





I honestly don't know who was more gleeful at this point, me or my sim!




My sim launches himself wholeheartedly into this mischief interaction!

Really? That's a 'chilling touch'? O.Kay then...




Wow, you're still best friends even after that?




His poor friend slowly curls himself into a ball of coldness while my sim ponders on the beauty of eating ice cream all day long.

When your sim has this moodlet the 'Cooling Touch' mischief interaction is temporarily available.

Mental Upheaval cycles through a few different emotions all +1 for a duration of 4 hours.
The script says: Sim just can't keep his mood straight.
My sim was first flirty, then confident, angry, confident again and finally energized. All the emotions lasted for one hour each.


The sims look like they are really enjoying eating the ice cream, it's pretty cute.

What makes it interesting is when you add toppings and garnishes to the ice cream you get extra moodlets. You don't get an extra moodlet all the time but instead it seems that certain combinations of toppings/garnishes and ice cream unlocks the moodlet when paired with certain traits that the sim eating the ice cream may have.

All the other flavors of ice cream (or the ones that don't also give a special effect) will give your sim a Happy +1 Very Tasty moodlet.

When you start to stack all these moodlets together, (Excellent food, special moodlet or ice cream moodlet plus the topping and garnishes moodlet) you are on your way to easily getting your sim into a 'very' emotional state for up to 6 hours. Quite powerful considering your sim has to eat something each day anyway!

I'm sure there is a lot more to discover and I've only played around with it for just over an hour today. Watching my sim eat ice cream was surprisingly fun!

The ice cream maker does get dirty and needs cleaning from time to time.





I really enjoyed the interactions even the sounds my sim made when he got brain freeze. He didn't get it often enough for it to be annoying which I was pretty pleased about!

Need more game time to figure out exactly which trait has a 'secret' reaction but a sim with the insane trait is interesting when they eat an ice cream with nuts. lol Changed the text re: toppings above to reflect this hidden combination thing.

@XxMousiexX , it is surprisingly fun playing around with ice cream! Who'd have thought? The computer is the one a detective unlocks at level 10. I's called The Regulation Station. I just built this house for fun though so I used the cheat that allows for all the game items to become available.

@DarkWalker What a service to provide all this helpful information! Odd that the Cheerful trait gets no buff from toppings/garnish.
@Playalot      I also loved seeing the various reactions to different ice creams by your handsome sim.  I'd been ignoring the ice cream maker, but I bought one as soon as I finished reading (and bookmarking) this thread, lol.
