Career promotion bug

Because of the Renaissance Sim aspiration, I switched several careers after getting to level 3, including Tech Guru.

Now I'm trying the Computer Whiz aspiration, and I'm back to Tech Guru, level 1.

I'm way overqualified, did the required actions, and my performance is at 100%. I called my boss for a promotion (from Level 10 Charisma skill). I even have the Connections reward.

The thing is, it's been 10 game days and I'm not being promoted to level 2.

Is it a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

I had trouble with this too. I actually gave up as I became frustrated. There's a post here about it.

Hello, and thank you for the prompt reply.

Your issue seems related to mine, but not exactly the same. I did complete the Renaissance aspiration. But when I return to one of the careers that I left in Level 3, I can't get promoted.

I'm guessing both issues are related, and it's sad to see there's no fix yet.

I'll have to resort to cheats to get promoted.

It looks like it's definitely a bug. Thanks to you for giving an idea of what to look for. I searched on that, and found it on the list of known bugs.

I'm not entirely sure if there is a fix for it. But there maybe a work around?

Solved!

Thanks to your excellent input, I was able to find my bug:

The OP suggest visiting another lot to fix the issue.

In my case, the requirement "Play videogames for 4 hours" was checked when I posted the issue.
After quitting and restarting the game, the requirement appeared as unsolved. I completed it, and was promoted.

UPDATE: Now I need to exit the game or visit a lot after every promotion, since the bug persists.
