Where did my re colored clothes from CAS go?

I spent some time yesterday recoloring clothes and saving them to my game for future use. However, today they are not there. None of them.

You saved them in CAS, right?  So once you came back to the game, had you cleaned out your caches?  If so, did you also remove the users Presets.package file?  If you did, that's where you lost your recolors and the only way to get them back is either restore that file from your Recycle Bin or redo all the recolors.

Yes. I saved them in CAS. I didn't do anything to any files though. I just opened the game up and everything was gone.

The missing files are not in the recycle bin. I was only able to recover what my sims were wearing.

I would really like to know how to prevent this from happening again.

I'm sorry I don't have any help, but I have had this happen to me several times.  I've come to think of it as an annoying quirk of the game.

Does it also happen with your screenshots? When mine got to 300 they all erased.

I've never personally kept all my screenshots in my Sims3 Screenshots folder.  It would simply bog down my game too much.  What I do after each game play is go into the screenshots folder, select all, cut, and paste to a desktop folder labeled screenies.  I can then rename them and access them for use in dynasty stories or whatever via my Mediafire account.  I take so many screenies each time I play it would be really difficult to sort and organize them all otherwise.  Doing this sort of forces me to get rid of the ones that aren't that important or that good.
