Have you tried it out in another game? (If you don't want to wait to build points, you can use the "Find All Uncharted Islands" LTW then use the cheat to find all the islands)

On the discussion of the Kraken, I've seen it swim on by my houseboats before...what does it take to trigger an attack? Staying out on the water for too long? Multiple sightings and then an attack?

I believe it's random and a very small percent chance of happening. I also do think it can not happen to a houseboat. Must be another boat. I am not sure but I think this is what I have heard.

I see the Kraken pass my houseboat when it's out in the water. My family was out there for a couple of hours before it swam past. Perhaps you have to wait for the Kraken to appear before you can have it attack someone? In my experience it shows up pretty frequently so you probably wouldn't have to wait very long.

So, 'till now did someone succeed to release the Kraken to attack a npc boat ? ?   The option is everytime greyed out, like others said in the upper posts. This may be another game glitch...

Yeah I have yet not to get the non grey option and all 3  characters in play have the lifetime wish.

Azokka seems to be the Kraken Master since no one else in this thread can get the reward to work. I've personally given up on ever seeing it happen in my game, like meteors and alien babies.

Have you tried it out in a new game? Maybe it's just a glitched file.

Is the dept of the water the boat is in a issue? Has any of the tests mentioned been tried in a dive spot or somewhere as deep?

I'm back and bring news. I tried with several other new sims and the LTR still doesn't work. After some looking around, it seems like we're not the only ones to find this reward lacking. Besides Azokka's report, I haven't seen anyone else get the Kraken to attack any non-houseboat boats, members of your household or otherwise. Also, as I've never been attacked by the Kraken pre-LTR, I cannot tell you if Friend of the Kraken is worth it just for the protection aspect of it.

Has anyone who used the Friend of The Kraken Lifetime reward gotten to successfully use it? I heard you can't use it on houseboats but I keep getting a message about it not being able to attack, even on paddle boats.

I just managed to get it too work these are the things I did I will keep experimenting to figure out which one was the one that made it work but hope these help
1. I made sure the sim with the friend of the kraken life time wish was not doing anything her que was clear
2. The sim I did it on was in the active house hold
3. The boat was in a deep part of the ocean near a dive spot
4. In was foggy and raining (not sure if that's important)

I think I know why it hasn't been working... The kraken will only attack a boat that's not moving but the boat also has to be out in the ocean (near uncharted islands is where it works for me). The thing is unless you're controlling the boat it won't just sit there so the only boats that you can attack are boats that belong to memebers of your active household

Sorry. I was just so happy. An explanation. Taking in what Katiiee said, I tried the Friend of the Kraken LTR while one of my house members was boating near one of the uncharted islands. The sim in the boat doesn't have the LTR - he is brand new. This is the result.









So I guess the boating sim needs to be both a part of your household and be in deep enough water for an attack to occur. There isn't a moodlet; the attacked sim just panics in the water for about two hours. Weather doesn't seem to matter; it was a sunny afternoon in Isla Paradiso when I got this.

It works if it's a Sim from your household and you're near a dive spot. At least it worked for me, I hope this helps!

For those who can get it to work, being attacked by a kraken can be a quick way to make money. I had a sim in my household use it on a boat which another active sim was on and a couple of days later I got this:


I've used the kraken a few times and this is the only time it's happened so I guess there's a chance of getting an insurance payout.
