A person only has this kind of house once, and that's usually because they are the founder of a legacy. Starting in a fairly basic neighborhood with less than a hundred simoleons is a great way to start it off, and things aren't looking all that bad, aside from the fact that Katrina is seriously unprepared for anything besides reading, which appears to be her strong suit as she is just swimming in wishes to read books. I don't remember one of her traits having to do with books, if she's going to get a running start in this, she's going to have to learn a few things.
And so goes the rest of our money, from some simoleons to nothing in just a few moments. Katrina doesn't seem to be complaining, however, and books seem better than actually getting the material for hands-on learning, which is out of the question money-wise. Actually reading the books is another thing, and so I settled Katrina down at the park for a quiet midday study session.
Yoohoo, Katrina? There'’s a guy over there."Not in the mood, Watcher, I'’m reading.” she whispered, not wanting to attract any attention that she hadn't called for. It was her first day in Sunset Valley, and being known as the person who talked to air wasn't in her plans.
Rude. But really, I'm serious.“Okay, so what’'s he look like, then?” she said, raising her head slightly. She really wasn’'t in the mood for this kind of thing, especially when she had just barely gotten settled in to her new home.
Glad to see you're showing interest. He looks single and is undoubtedly rich. Your kinda guy, I think."That'’s not my kind of guy, it’s yours.” she replied, irked that she had been classified as that type of woman by the person who was supposed to be her guide. So much for first impressions.
Aw, I'm hurt. Just get over there and bust a move."Fine, fine. I’m going.” Katrina said finally, reluctantly placing her book down nearby as to pick it up later.
"So, what’s cooking, good looking?” she said, giving an awkward smile in hopes of starting a conversation. As much as she was unwilling to go for the first guy that walked on to the lot, she did want to appear nice. Well, nice in the respect that she didn't scare off the first person she'd have graced with her presence.
You just had to use that pick-up line, didn't you? “No thanks.” flashing a ring. He had meant to say that he was married, but it didn't look that way to Katrina, who could only stare as he walked away, obviously peeved and the guy's attitude didn't do much to help.
"Blunt, isn't he?" she mumbled under her breath after a few awkward minutes dragged past. The man had long gone, and so Katrina had nothing to do but reflect on the situation.
Well, he was married…"So? It'’s not as if that can’t be fixed!”
Okay, sure, just go with that. In the meantime, you up for more reading?"Fine. Not that I like wasting time at the park, but I don't have much better to do."
Katrina read for a few more hours, managing to get a skill level in logic before another guy showed up, some paparazzi that managed to get lost on his way to the next big thing.
Pst. Katrina.“Yeah, yeah, I know. Wish you'’d of told me the real reason we were going to the park.”
It'’s necessary, okay? You'’re jobless with only a few hundred simoleons in the bank. We don'’t really have a choice in the matter."That's your opinion." Katrina seethed, but made to talk to the unknown guy anyway.
"Well, hello there. I'’m single, who are you?” Katrina said, sidling up next to the man.
Another cheesy pick-up line. Jeez, Katrina, you got anything else up there?.“Not in the mood, Watcher," she berated under her breath. She was bad enough at these kinds of things, she didn't need someone else telling her that.
The man, a redhead with a very distinct facial structure, looked surprised to see that someone had made an effort to talk to him. However, he did not reply.
Oh, look, now you’re scaring him off. Just great. I knew you weren't cut out for this."Oh, shut it!" she whispered harshly, but did not let her features waver from her forced smile.
"What?" was the man's sudden reply to the words that weren't meant for him.
“Katrina sighed, looking back towards him to do what she expected to soon become commonplace for her, "Nothing. Nothing at all."
You should probably leave this one alone. "You're probably right.” she replied, trying to keep her voice down.
“The man continued to stare at her, confused, and Katrina soon made to escape.
"Goodbye!" she said, waving, seemingly grateful to leave.
Author's Note: Remember that little tidbit about The Watcher? Yeah, you might've seen that in other stories. I'm only using it because I like the idea, and I hope that no one minds.
