"Madam Allysa, I am to remind you that the limo is to arrive in thirty minutes."
"Thomas please, it's Allysa."
"I'm sorry ma'am, your mother and father forbid me to call you by your name without madam in front of it." Thomas informed me.
"Of course they do." I muttered under my breath.
"Thirty minutes." He repeated.
"Thank you Thomas."
I got up from my chair and walked over to the mirror and looked into it and focused on who I saw:
I saw a young adult named Allysa. On the outside she looks like a normal girl with long black hair and blue eyes. Those who know her or know of her however, know that she's far from normal... In my dreams I'm a normal girl, I get up every morning and go to work. I come home every night to my husband and children, and then do it all over again. In reality I am the daughter of Phillip and Vanessa Haystings. Yes, I said Haystings... By now you know that my family is one of the richest families out there. What you don't know is that the majority of the time my smile is fake. I don't like being rich, being rich comes with A LOT of rules and responsibilities.
I sighed and walked over to my closet and opened it. I chose my royal blue dress with my black heels.
"Remember to pick stuff that's not revealing."I grabbed my black long sleeved gloves and slipped them on.
"Remember to pick out your best jewelry, there will be a lot of people to impress." I opened my jewelry box and picked out a pearl bracelet and and my diamond necklace.
"Remember that attitude is everything! Be kind and never show weakness.""Madam Allysa, the limo has arrived."
"Thank you Thomas."
Here goes nothing, another dinner party, another night to impress all the other rich snobs.
...
"Allysa honestly, the caterer will be here in an hour. You don't need to make your own food." Mother scolded.
"I can do it myself mother." I told her.
"We pay for services is all."
"I can do things myself."
She just huffed and walked away, I sighed and continued to eat my yogurt.
"Good morning Shelly." I said cheery.
She smiled.
"How are you?" I asked.
She just looked at me.
"Everything okay?"
"Yes ma'am."
I looked at her.
"Can I have a drink?" I asked.
"Yes ma'am."
"Shelly, you can talk to me you know."
"All due respect ma'am, madam Vanessa wishes for us to keep to ourselves."
"Unbelievable." I mumbled.
I shook my head, "Well, you can talk to me."
I had a very nice conversation with her and headed into the kitchen.
"Good morning Alexander!" I greeted.
He smiled, "Good morning madam Allysa, today's breakfast consists of eggs, sausage, bacon, English muffins, and toast with jam."
"I'll just have some toast with grape jam." I said sitting at the table.
"Coming right up."
"Here you go ma'am."
"Come sit with me!" I offered.
"No ma'am."
"Please! I insist!"
"Madam Vanessa and Sir Phillip would not approve of me sitting down. I must work on the lunch menu for the day."
I sighed.
"It's boring you know, being in the house alone. I mean mother and father are here most of the time, but when they are here they are busy working on things. The only interaction I have is the hired help and apparently they've trained you guys not to speak..." I sighed.
I finally talked him into sitting down after a while and he was actually a nice gentleman!
"What is this?!"
I looked and saw father standing in the kitchen.
"Sir! I am so sorry! Madam Allysa asked me to sit and talk!"
"I don't care, we hired you to cook not to socialize with our daughter who should know better not to disrupt you guys!"
"Father!" I scolded.
"Stay out of this!"
"I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to let you go."
"Of course, I'm sorry sir."
I watched as Alexander walked out of the house, father left the room but I marched right after him.
"Father!"
He turned around looking shocked.
"I'm sorry, I may be stepping over the line but that was uncalled for!"
"Allysa when you hire people for a job, you expect that job to be done in the way that you request it done. I specifically told him that he was to not take any breaks until his relief got here after lunch. I then walked in to find him sitting down at the table when the lunch menu hadn't even been planned."
I had to bite my tongue. This wasn't right, people should not be treated like filth underneath shoes!
...
"Allysa?"
I looked up and saw father.
"Yes father?"
"May I?" He asked, wanting to sit.
"Of course."
"I know you'll never say this, but I am aware that you hate this lifestyle."
"Father-"
"No, don't apologize or deny it. There are times I feel the same way, but I push it aside that because I have to do what needs to be done. We may not be celebrities, we may not be royalties, but we are one of the well known families in this town. People watch our every move, our every breath. We do not have room for failure or mess ups, and that is why I hold a tight fist on the kitchen crew and every other person we hire."
I sighed.
"I just hope one day you can understand where I'm coming from."
I shook my head, "I don't want to understand."
"One day you'll have too."
He got up and walked away.
"No, I won't." I whispered.
...I'm not sure if I like the beginning but I can't fuss over it anymore and keep you guys waiting! I feel like I could've offered a lot more information on the family and such. But I suppose there is still plenty of time for that! I've been working on it since the last update with the pictures of the house (that's more of a mansion really). I hope you guys like it! =]
