Zargon, Week 9A small blue alien has taken over the Zargon household.
Her name is Eris, after the Goddess of Discord.
For the most part Eris was a happy baby, only waking her parents from a sound sleep two nights out of three. Still, it was a relief when she became a child – cheerful, the opposite of her father's gloominess.
She immediately started working on her Social Butterfly aspiration, cuddling with her mother...
,,,and even with her somewhat terrifying grandmother. Luthor didn't know if his mother would be a good influence, though. "You're going to be a little mischief-maker, aren't you, sweetheart?" he overheard her saying.
As life got back to normal, Luthor and Rhonda could get back to painting again. She reminded him that he'd agreed to do her picture.
"On it," he responded.
One day Rhonda took Eris to the park to meet some other children. She got to know Lucas Munch and Xarelto Oirat.
She gazed at clouds with Michael Cormier. He was angry at first to find out that she was an alien, but then he decided that her interpretations of clouds ("that's a nefferbat") were pretty cool.
Finally, it was time to go home. "Please, can't we stay a little longer?" Eris begged. But Rhonda said it was suppertime.
When Luthor came home from work, they had a family gathering. He didn't see why it had to be in Eris's room, but that was where she was doing her homework, so that was where they say. His mother reminded him that Eris would have to take over from him as club leader, which made him a bit sad.
Now that Eris was in school, Rhonda didn't have much to do during the day except watch television. She quickly traded in their tiny box for something a little larger.
One afternoon she watched – and cried over – the movie
Simder.
"You have to see this," she told Luthor when he came home. "It's the best movie."
"Of course it is," said Luthor. "It's about a painter."
"Oh, he turns out to be a rat," said Rhonda. "Like some other painter I could mention."
It still annoyed Rhonda that her picture was on a separate wall from the one showing the rest of the family. Luthor had told her it was because there wasn't room, but he'd managed to find room for Eris's baby picture.
Eris enjoyed the movies, too. Her favorite was
Lost Dog's Journey Home. "It's so sad when he realizes that he'd much rather be home with the little girl," she sobbed to Michael Cormier – who didn't think it was sad at all.
One night Luthor was summoned to make his report to Zargon Headquarters.
"I'm at level 6 of my job, and the wormhole generator has been added to my rocket ship," he reported proudly. "My heir, Eris, is a B student and has completed her childhood aspiration."
"What about your heir's mother?" asked the commander.
"Rhonda?" said Luthor. "What about her?"
"Indications are that she is not happy. She spends all her time soaking up simish propaganda rather than furthering the Zargon cause."
"Oh," said Luthor. "I'll see what I can do."
"Excellent," said the Zargon commander. "It's high time you stopped mooning over that sim girl."
