Repair Game in Origin

Hopefully this is the right board for this question.
What does right clicking The Sims 4 in Origin do? I know it gives the option to 'repair game' but does that wipe the save files? Reinstall it? Change things at a game file level?

It only affects the install files for the actual game. It doesn't make any changes to save game files. If you have any mods in the game, you may need to remove those first before running the repair tool.

Essentially, it compares your installed game files with the files on the Origin server and re-downloads any files that are different. It will also repair registry entries for the game if any have been altered or erased.

Thank you, yes indeed that does help. I don't use any mods or cc so I should be safe just to go ahead and repair my game.
