Well, he just wants to have a full of life. It's Jake right? Still, I couldn't believe that his younger brother is gone earlier. Yea... There’s something wrong when you left Kaiden and Winston being together. I know there's something with your mind, Sis #oops

It's lovely that you chose having child in home instead going to hospital. Well, I never had child in my game and in my life so yeah. That’s so family-oriented and traditional. 

It seems like life has coming back to this family. That’s great

And I had so much laughter from seeing Cara, HAHAHAAHAHA!

@ Ginj, yeah, it's super hard getting angry enough that other moodlets don't take over. And... Yeah! Girls! Wooh  ( About time!)

@ KTK10, I think Leilani might be a real wee cutie.

@ arimau, Cara is pretty funny, right.

And just a wee note about ghosts. For some reason all my urns/headstones just have  "RIP_________" so it doesn't look like it's feasible to expect any of the oldies to return.  I guess it's because this game file started before the ghost patch. Bummer.

Chapter 75: Close Call, Over and Over

As I sat looking at my two girls I thought I heard a strange noise.


It sounded like Dad was in trouble.




I raced towards him my heart pounding. I couldn't believe I was too late. No!


Sweaty palms and shaking badly I handed over the Death Flower. I'd never done this before and I was putting everything on the line, trusting that Carl had got his facts straight on his forum.


The Grim Reaper sounded surprised and looked at the flower for what felt like hours. I waited nervously. I didn't dare take my eyes of him.


Then I knew it was going to be o.k. Dad's name wasn't on Grim's list.


Suddenly a cloud came over the sun and Grim became terrifying.


Then the brightest light imaginable blinded me for a second.


I grabbed dad away from The Reaper and held on to him for dear life.
"It's alright son, I'm ok," Dad murmured.


A bell tolled, then The reaper left. I was never so pleased to see the back of anyone as I was The Reaper.


I went in to check that Dad was really ok. He was a bit tired but he was desperate to to see Leilani and to wish her Happy Birthday.


He hugged her tightly and told her how much he loved her.


They spent a few minutes chatting and laughing together and then Leilani looked up at Dad.
"Grandad," she said very seriously, "what's it like being so old?"


Suddenly Dad fell to the floor.


I raced in and told Leilani to quickly go sit at her art table. I couldn't hold back the tears. I was in shock. It had only been less than an hour since Dad had nearly died.


I handed The Reaper another precious Death Flower. I didn't think it was going to work again.
Leilani kept her eyes down, not looking at The Reaper like I had asked her.


Upstairs Kennedy was in full labour. Alone.


I stood protectively over dad.
"You're not having him," I bravely sobbed.


Upstairs directly overhead, Kennedy gave birth.


I couldn't see Grim's list but I had to go and make sure Leilani was alright.


"Oh my! What's happening to granddad?" she shrieked.
"It's ok, keep your eyes on me sweetheart. Grandad will be himself in a minute." I hoped with all my heart I wasn't telling a lie.


Grim got really angry towards dad. I guess he doesn't like to be cheated once, let alone twice, in a day.


All those years of training kicked in and dad calmly gave Grim a tranquilizing handshake.


Upstairs I had a wee darling daughter to meet, but I wasn't about to leave Leilani alone with The Reaper. My poor girl, what a birthday. I had a bad feeling that this day wasn't over yet.

0.o Oh no!  Twice!?  In such close succession!?  Poor Leilani!  And the new little one!  I thought death flowers were against the rules in the Legacy... or am I crazy?

I will be sad to see him go, i got a schock each time right now, specially when the new baby was born i was thinking you would do the old when one life ends a new begins.

@ LenaLJ, I know. I need to let him go. I think I have dependency issues! That and I needed Jake to finish his Family Aspiration, "Big Happy Family" and for that to happen he needed to be alive for the birth of grandchild number 4.

I'm sorry!  I really am.  I was just so confused heh.  I had forgotten that was something that Pinstar allowed.  I was kinda thinking it was along the same lines as Ambrosia and I know that Ambrosia is only allowed once as a life extension type thing.  That and maybe that and the new ID challenge is mixing around in my brain XD  I blame the head cold that has attacked with a vengeance.  So apologies again XD

@ Shewolf, lol, no need for apologies  , it would have been far worse not to say anything and then for me to have found out after hours and hours of play that it was dead in the water!
Did me good to reread the rules anyway!
I haven't started a dynasty yet because I just couldn't keep both sets of rules apart and I'd end up hopelessly confused. Took me long enough to get my head around Pinstars rules.

Chapter 76: Winston Snaps

Dad headed upstairs as quick as his creaky back would let him to cuddle nooboo Laila.


"Oh you're a little cherub," he exclaimed.


I gave Winston a quick call and asked him to come home from work early as things were rapidly getting out of control. Kennedy came down to stay with Leilani so that I could meet my new nooboo Laila.
"Don't leave me alone with Grim," pleaded Leilani.
"Of course not darling, no one's leaving you with anyone," replied Kennedy.


I can't tell you how good it was to see Dad standing there rocking Laila.


"Dad," I began, "what happens next time He comes?"
"I'm not sure son, but I've fulfilled my aspiration to see four grandchildren. I'm a happy man. It would be nice to be with your mother again, you know. I miss seeing her everyday," he replied as he stared out the window looking at something I couldn't quite see.
I nodded and held Laila just a little bit tighter.


As dad left the room I thought about everything that had happened. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it all. It had been a pretty close race but if Dad died now I'd be the next heir. I guess I had known that all along but some part of me had wanted to deny the truth.


Leila was such a wee honey. I treasured a few more minutes with her in the stillness of our bedroom.


Downstairs Leilani was asking Kennedy if Grim was right behind her.


"Yes darling, but he can't hurt you."
"I know what I'm going to do, I'm going to completely ignore him and then he won't exist."
"Hmmmff" snorted Grim


Winston arrived home. He was in a dangerous mood.


Leah arrived back from school pretty stressed out. Some bully had stolen her lunch money.


Winston looked at Grim with steely eyes.
"I think I've finally had enough," he said.


He let rip.


"This is how far I'm going to knock your block off."


"And I'm going to do it with this knuckle sandwich."


The Grim Reaper tried to reason with him, job description and all that. Leilani said she could hardly stop herself from giggling at this point.


"Roaaaar," yelled Winston.
"Ahhhhhhhh", shrieked Grim.


Winston shooed everyone out to the lounge and left Grim to think about his woes.


It took a bit of time but eventually Kennedy calmed the girls down and then began to get them settled for doing homework.
As for Winston, he sat there looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth! Who knew he had such a temper. I guess it just goes to show you that everyone has a limit and I guess Winston just hit his! Woah!

Woo, go Winston!  You show Grim!  Though... there are times I pity poor Grim.  He can't enjoy his job very much.  But someone's gotta do it.

Oh my! I'm still getting over my shock and relief that Jake is still ok. I know that he doesn't have long left, and I am so pleased that he got to finish his aspiration.. I guess I'll just need to get myself ready.  Boy is Kaiden looking good in his new swimmers! Nice job  Just love this story so much Playalot
