Chapter 71: Oh No CaraSeems that Cara's back up to her old tricks. Now even Winston's not immune.
He has his own way of dealing with it. I think he has the patience of a saint.
Leah and dad are enjoying hanging out together. Leah says she wants Granddad to mentor her in painting but she has to finish her motor skill goals first.
Dad's still busy writing on his days off and Winston's painting like there's no tomorrow. He desperately wants to get a promotion.
Leah came home from school with the first day blues.
"Come on champ," smiled Winston, "I'll give you a hand with your homework."
Some of our neighbours phoned me to say that Cara was being highly offensive. Luckily I answered the phone and not dad. That's the last thing he needs to deal with at his age.
I had been out jogging and wanted to have some time with my gorgeous wife before we all got busy with our day.
I made the mistake of asking her when the nooboo was due.
I quickly changed the subject and made a mental note not to EVER ask that question when Kennedy has our next nooboos. I've decided that I want a huge family. I haven't actually discussed this with Kennedy yet, perhaps now's not such a good time.
I didn't say a thing when she waddled off to work. I really wanted her to stay at home but there was no way Kennedy was doing that.
"Bye dear, love you."
"Mhmmm hm." She replied.
Cara said she had a secret to tell me. I was all ears.
Blast that girl.
I wasn't amused.
I ripped into her. Pointing out that if she wanted to have anywhere
near a chance of being the next heir she better pull her head in and sort out her behaviour.
She replied that this is actually what she was doing. Apparently her new aspiration involves a lot of people disliking her... and a lot of fighting!
"What?" I spat out! "What kind of example are you setting for Leah?"
"Oh stow it brother of mine, you're starting to sound just like Winston".
She walked off singing "...I wanna start a fight nananananaana." Last time she listened to the rock star Pink we had major trouble on our hands. I was worried.
Later that afternoon I got a call from Kalani. He'd been at the park.
Apparently the other girl actually
had started it.
"Told you
Watcher."
But these ladies had just been sitting playing chess.
This old fellow was just walking along and happened to catch Cara's eye.
By the time Kalani made it across the park, Cara was nowhere to be seen.
Next thing we know is that the local school teacher is unhappy, to say the least, that Cara had been bullying the kids.
Gosh if the teacher figures out that Cara is Leah's mum things are sure going to get ugly.
Poor wee kid. I have a horrible, sinking feeling that Cara is just getting started too.
