Chapter 62: Party Time 1

I was up early the next day making breakfast for Kennedy. I've decided that the only way to win her heart is to try to ignore her commitment wobbles.


I've got a plan, so I chatted to dad about it as I practiced my mixology skills. He listened carefully and told me that sometimes the path of true love isn't smooth but that the best things in life are worth fighting for.


I got the wheels in motion.


Cara gave me a quick hug for luck just before our guests arrived. She has become so lovely again, just like she was as a little kid. Winston's been the best thing for her. I think if it hadn't been for him being there for her after mum died that she would have gone right over to the dark side for sure.


Party 1. This is Cara telling Winston an unbelievable story. He didn't buy it.


This is Winston telling Cara a love story. She bought it.


I chatted politely to Ariana. She works with Kalani mostly but she's training in mixology as well. Right, time to move onto Party number 2...


We held this at Kalani's house. The old lady dancing in the corner...


Should have been in here, doing this. Last time I hire caters for a party. This sucks.


I told a crowd pleasing story. I know, my face looks like it's a Halloween Tale, but no, I just got a little excited.


Dad brought the tone of the house party back up by quickly jumping on the piano and playing some of the most beautiful concert music I've ever heard. Good save dad. Got to stay focused on my plan.


Even Kahlil was like, talk to the hand lady, you're in no position to be complaining about the lack of food at this party! LOL


A quick tidy up... Hey! Dad! Kalani! Tidying time guys! Chop Chop!


And on to party 3.


Oh yeah, we can do this! All my friends were in on The Plan. Don't worry about the siamese twins there on the left, I dealt with their separation issues later.


This became one of those 'us and them' parties. Here are the lounge lizards.


Here are the guys that hung out in the bedrooms.


And here are the groovers that danced the hours away and got, well, groovy I guess.


It sort of turned into one of those parties that your mum tells you never to go to. Or if you find yourself at one like this... to like, leave, immediately!


I went to find out who was behaving inappropriately.


Oh! never mind! Awkward!

I think I'll just go dance <cough>.


A quick game of charades.


And then a chance to catch our breath. That second drink was actually Uncle Jon's, he'd just nipped off to go potty.

Chapter 62: Party Time 2

No time for slacking around. We've got party number 4 to get rolling.


I pulled a few bar tricks, just to spice up a pretty ordinary house party. I wasn't out for gold, silver's good as it's all about timing.


I thought about Kennedy, she was still at work.


We'd have to hurry, still quite a lot to do.


O.K. guys. Party number 5. Yeah, I know we're all over it, but please guys I need you to help me just a few more times for The Plan.
Side issue, check out Khalil's face! he's the hotdog on the right! That was the only costume left by the time he got to the shop! Oh, what a good sort for sticking with me.
Don't ask me what I am, the label said "Pool Boy". Yeah, not what I expected either. I think I might need to tell the costume hire place to get an update.


That's the girl, let's show some enthusiasm.. wooh!


Alright, now we're talking. You guys are rocking it now.


I'll just have a chat to these ladies. Crack a few jokes...


"Why didn't the lifeguard save the hippie? He was too far out man!"
Two fish are in a tank. One turns to the other and asks “How do you drive this thing?”


Kalani was exhausted by the end. I wasn't feeling much better actually.


But we still had some business to take care of.


Party number 6.
"How many more Kaiden?" snipped Kayleigh.
About 17 now.
"I think I'm going to kill you."


It took us all a few moments to sort ourselves out. It was like a train station with everyone wandering around aimlessly.


We eventually found our seats. I had the dubious goal of making 3/3 of my friends flirty! I ask you! What kind of goal is that? Awkward, that's what. I really could have done without that in front of Kennedy. Thanks Watcher.
Don't look at me! I'm as bummed out as you!


I grabbed Kennedy for some fresh desert air. It was beautiful out there in the moonlight.


Yeah, and then, you know it, say it with me, Kennedy's commitment issues popped up.




I tried to suck it up.


Give me strength!

"It's ok."  I went to hang with the boys.
"Did you just crash and burn there Kaiden?" sniggered Harry


"You know, if you weren't such a good mate I'd thump you."
"I know, " he grinned back.


Kennedy hid in the kitchen.


Aww, a touching family moment.


Oh, my bad. The boys were just watching sport.

awww, arimau, not true. I don't choose my townies. Remember I'm following strict legacy rules in this story, can't just use cheats and change things as I want or I'd break my legacy.

Well, you always can do that in another save file. I never touched my legacy save. I've done additional screenshots in another file. Except there's a rule that ban something like that.

I'm so glad Cara survived and that Winston had her all figured out. So funny when he didn't bought her unbelievable story but she bought his lovestory. That cracked me up.

LOL a party marathon.

Oh my, those commitment issues Kennedy's having sure makes for some great expressions, but also for some tough times for Kaiden. Poor guy

@ ferretmania, yes, it was a marathon. Lucky for you guys you don't have to sit through all 25 + parties! That is one tough aspiration! I think I officially hate throwing parties now.

@ markarch, thanks! I wish someone had told me that before I started on this mad...." let's-finish-more-aspirations-than-is-humanly-possible -so-that-my-sibling-doesn't-get-to-be-heir' race between Cara and Kaiden started! 

@ Brooke, don't let Kaiden know that you don't like his one-liners, they're a big hit with the ladies of Willow Creek. And yeah, good question <glares @ Kennedy> what more does Kaiden need to do? Remind me please?

Chapter 64: It's a Date?

I gave dad a quick update on how The Plan was going the next morning.


He was pretty encouraging.


I was feeling confident that I had nailed it. I was now officially only three more gold parties away from completing this aspiration, and that put me in a fairly comfortable position for being the heir... and for giving Kennedy the reassurance that our life wouldn't just disappear in a  puff of smoke when Dad died. She needs the reassurance that our futures safe, I reckon, before she'll make a commitment. Least that's what I'm hoping.


Time to cook Kennedy's breakfast. I'm going all out today.


As we sat talking I had the realization that I wanted every single day of the rest of my life to start like this.


"Come here you," I grabbed Kennedy into a quick kiss before we both had to run off to work.


After work I had a few hours to fill before Kennedy got home. I painted my second masterpiece.


We headed out to the club, it was rocking.


I order a drink for both of us.


Then decided Kennedy was tastier.


"Come on, let's split." We headed out into the moonlight.


I found us a seat down by the river.


"You know Kennedy, " I began, "we're not perfect, there's room to grow still, but we're on our way. Wouldn't you say?"


"What about my.." she began.
"Shhhhh, we're just gonna let that slide." I stopped her.


As we sat under the moonlight I told her that I wanted to wake up where she was every day.
She shivered.
"Are you cold?" I asked.
"No," she replied and snuggled closer.


As the sun came up I kissed her and asked if she could imagine her best friend always sticking up for her, even when I knew she was wrong.


I waited breathless, frozen for her reaction.
