This is a great chapter! Kayleigh with her dad is funny. I'm sure it isnt funny if I'm in Jake's place but lol, as a reader, it tickles me.

That cute picture of the young cow plant makes me wanna have a gardener in the family too. Mine has only been planting Basil and Snapdragon. I need to find that other seed or graft or something. Gonna need to see Carl's guide later.

Your two new boys are lovable, the scamps. :D

By the way, your house with the many sim-made paintings had influenced me so much that my Renaissance Sim (Tiffany) went overboard with her new passion! My 137-hours playing Sims 4 just upped to 159! Lol Tiffany has now maxed painting.  :P

Good luck with Kayleigh's aspiration, Playalot.  I suspect it's the same one that made my heart sink when I discovered it in the heir's spouse that I'd just moved in.

The downside of randomization -- I think I know what Kayleigh's aspiration is.

Chapter 29: Party Plans

I ran over to see Jon waving his arms around.
"It's ok," he said, "Moo just wants to play, she's harmless... see?"

I felt a bit silly at totally over reacting, I guess Kayleigh's recent declaration that she wants to date as many boys as possible, and all at once, has really got me tense. To be saying the least.
We went inside to make plans for Cassandra's birthday party. Jon said that what Cassandra really wanted was one of my gourmet cakes.

Sweet, easily done.

Kalani helped with the cleaning.

The tall one with long hair who I'm not talking to right now, kept Kaiden under control. Believe me, he needs that.

Everything was pretty much all set so Jon and I headed upstairs for a quick work out while we were waiting for Nia to come home from the office.

We had no idea what was unfolding downstairs, right outside our window.

We found out later that Cassandra had thought the cake was part of her birthday surprise.

Gone.

In a single heart beat.

By the time Jon got downstairs Grim had reaped Cassandra's soul.

Mum just grabbed Jon and held on tight.

Even Grim was mad at what he been forced to do. Everyone knew how sweet and beautiful Cassandra was.

Grim went inside

to watch the news as it broke.

Kayleigh was not happy.
"I thought we'd talked about this before," she glared.

She gave him a big fright.
"Arghh, Don't hurt me!"

It was going to be a long, bitter night for Jon.

@ Devin, you guessed it... no cake for Kendra  :)

@ Indira, the two boys are quite cute but I'm finding the social butterfly aspiration (Kaiden) quite tricky with a lack of townies etc. Painting has always been one of my fav things in The Sims, but I'm liking it a whole lot in TS4  :)

@ Ginj, Kayleigh's aspiration is just horrible for a teen, when I rolled it, it didn't occur to me that she could potentially be starting before she was a YA.

@ LanaLJ, I know right! You'd think sims would know by now  ???

@ MarionT, indeed <sigh> I'm just going to have to get on with it. I think I've been pretty lucky so far, apart from the repetitive creative streak!

@ justproud2b, hehehe tricked you  ;) When I saw "Moo" snapping at Kendra I just couldn't resist putting in a wee teaser!

@ dnagirl, I know, poor Jon. He was so sad that it made me feel bad!

Teen...legacy spouse....horrible aspiration for either one.  Ah well, to paraphrase Jessica Rabbit, "I'm not bad, I'm just randomised that way".

Chapter 30: Turning Into An Adult

Jon had hardly slept.

He just couldn't seem to find the energy to do anything.

I heard him sobbing in the shower and it really cut me up.

I headed out to the gym and who did I find there. I wasn't particularly pleased to see him.

We started talking. We actually had a pretty good heart-to-? err.. Well Grim doesn't actually have a heart, but you know what I mean.

Later we told a few good yarns which made a few townies quite nervous. Funny thing is, these days I'm beginning to take chatting to Grim in my stride. Is that a bad thing?

Kayleigh spent the day with Jon, chatting, getting help with her homework and just generally not letting him be alone. Kayleigh has a good heart and she is more like Jon than me really. I guess that's why they get on so well. Kindred spirits and all that.

Jon had spent nearly the entire day running on the treadmill. He looked pretty darn good by the end of it. I sensed a deep change with Jon, more than losing Cassandra, whatever was going on went far deeper than that.

It was nearly time for the guests to arrive for my adult birthday party. I didn't feel like celebrating. I don't think any of us did.

This is me checking out my wife. She's seriously cute.

Kayleigh got everyone feeling playful with dancing and telling jokes. Jon tried to get into the mood for the kids sake.

Mum heard a strange sound and turned round with a gasp. Cassandra was here and she was very angry. Mum chatted  gently to her and calmed her down.

It was time to make a wish. There were so many things I wished I could change but I what I most wanted was my family safe and happy.

Everyone celebrated and sung happy birthday. Jon was really pleased to see Cassandra.

We chatted and told jokes till late into the night.

We had a toast to absent loved ones.

I'd probably a few too many.

But luckily the kids had gone upstairs to play computer games by then.

Early hours of the morning Kaiden woke up and came downstairs.
"Hey, is that you Auntie Cassandra?"

She made him do his homework. We were still fumbling around trying to clean up the mess.

As the sun came up Cassandra drifted away, back to the memorial garden where we'd placed her next to Dad so she wouldn't be lonely.

Poor Jon! Is that a new tattoo that I see on him as well? At least the ghosts help to ease the sorrow a bit, right?

@ Tigerskin, <coughs> umm, yes, yes I did.  :-[

@ Ginj, Oh my gosh, I've just read right through the aspiration requirements for Serial Romantic. Golly! It really is a bad roll for a legacy founder.  :o  Well, all I can say is watch this space 'cos I've got no idea how thats all going to work out!

@ devin, The Essence of Life, yes... <thinks> well all of gen 2 have had a Potion of Life at this point so maybe it might come into play in gen 3?

And yes, a new tattoo, I asked Pinstar if it was in the rules and he 'okayed' it, so Jon's all good to roll.  :P  http://www.simslegacychallenge.com/sims-4-legacy-challenge-gameplay-rules/#comment-7479
