Dellena, your house is so beautiful!  I'm also working on a replacement for Oakenstead.  It's supposed to be Craftsman style.  This is just a quick photo of front and back and things are just at the beginning stages.  Lots of work left to do.

So, half my problem is I start houses, then I get another idea and I start another without finishing the first.  I do have to finish the A-Frame and the Craftsman.  But I started a new one anyway lol.  Front and back.  These roofs drive me nuts.  I also wish we had triangle windows for a-frame type walls.  I will finish this one and furnish though before I finish anything else.  Maybe.   :P

Here is my first attempt at something to share with the public.  I call this the Colonial Barford Manor.  It is a colonial styled home.  Here are some pics to get the conversation started:

@dnagirl: I love the front of your house. It feels elven somehow. Although the roof at the back looks awkward. Not that we can really do something about them. I have similar problems with roofing that makes me want to pull my hair out.

@kixdsky: your house looks so spacious and comfy! I'd love to live there irl :D

Thanks.  The roof was annoying me too.  I made a few changes, I think it helps, although it still isn't perfect.  But yeah, roofs just make me crazy.

Thank you, Dellena also!

Here is the updated lot.  I also furnished and uploaded to the gallery.

I'm just loving all of these builds. The rooflines, decks/veranda's etc are just superb.

Along with the house I posted earlier in the thread, I am working a bar/nightclub called 'Rumours'.

I keep imagining what your home on top of pillars will look like with swamp water under it. :D Maybe I'm missing Twinbrook.

@ dnagirl, what a cool idea using pillars and I'm with Indira... imagine your house with swamp. Maybe we will be able to have a pond tool back at some point!

@ Gogowars329. Thats just so cool. I could really do with a new nightclub.  :)

I would love to put a pond underneath.  I had the same idea and tried a fountain but it just doesn't look the same.

I love the house on pillars and the new bar!

I'm feeling very inadequate as a builder in TS4, although I do very well in TS3, (went back and played there just to boost my self esteem builder wise), and I need your help.  I built a character from Once Upon A Time, Regina Mills aka the Evil Queen, for a legacy story.  Came time to build a house and I wanted something that wasn't just another box or look alike.  I failed.  My main problem at the moment is the roof which I was unable to do properly, (it's got one but it's awful), and I want a frieze which I also couldn't do.  Later there will be an upstairs, (unfortunately basements are out of the question at the moment), and more rooms downstairs as well.  If you all could help me by telling me how to put a unique, or even just plain nice looking, roof on this build I'd really appreciate it.  Here's the pics:
