How To: Save Sims 3 Files From the Library (Exporting Files):Updated: May 2022Please click the thumbnails for larger view.
This is a how to on exporting your Sims 3 files from your library to your export folder.
1. Go to and click on the Options Menu (...) in the lower left-hand part of the screen with the dots and select Edit Town. At the bottom of your screen you'll find the Library. It opens up to the Household tab by default.
--- There are 3 tabs: Households (Solid House); Empty Houses (House Outline); Community lots (Bench) 2. Select which tab you want to export your chosen file from, look for it's photo, which opens a menu to the right of the screen. Select the "Share" button, which is the arrow with a star above it icon. The file then goes to the Exports folder.
For example: Take the house in the empty house tab. Click it to select it, look for the "Share" button and click it. Before it gets saved, you can name it and give it a description, if it doesn't have them. Once you are finished with that, click the checkmark to save.
Once the Share/Export is complete you should be able to find the .Sims3Pack file in the Exports folder.
