I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I've had Pets installed for 4-5 months now, and not once have I gotten a phone call that an animal had babies and if I wanted to adopt one.

I'm wondering if this only triggered if you're Friends with a Sim and if that Sim has a pet. To me, this makes sense. But, don't know. Could someone tell me?
I am using StoryProgression, and wondering if this could be messing with the mechanic that allows this to happen.

You don't get calls, but in the newspaper it mentions that a neighbors pet has had puppies/kittens. You can also see the house in map view.

Normally, you'll only get a call from Sims who consider your Sim to be a friend. :)
So there needs to be 3 conditions met for the call to happen:
>The Sim outside the household must have a pet.
>That pet must have had kittens/puppies/a foul.
>That Sim in question needs to be your Sims friend.

Hopefully that explains it.

Ah, thank you, LivvieLove. Yes, that definitely does explain it.

@Lisa46: I got the Newspapers stopped due to the fact I don't read them, and all they do is clutter my yard.
Though I'm sure a Computer would do the same thing, yes?

Yeah, I think it's time the Sims moved to reading the newspaper online. ;)

You can also check via your phone, I'm pretty sure too! :)
